Setting Up Your Limited Company Through Xchange Properties
📌 Step 1: Choose Your Company Name
Your name must be unique and follow Companies House rules. As you are joining Xchange Properties, We would suggest setting up a name such as “Joe Bloggs – Xchange Properties”

📌 Step 2: Get Your Company Details Ready
Before registering, make sure you have the following:
Company name (from Step 1)
Registered office address (can be your home or accountant’s)
Details of directors and shareholders (name, address, DOB, etc.)
Share structure (e.g. 1 share of ÂŁ1 per shareholder)
SIC code (what your business does)
SIC Code: 68310
📌 Step 3: Register Online with Companies House
You can do this in about 15–20 minutes. Cost: £12

You’ll be asked to:
Choose between Ltd by shares or Ltd by guarantee
Add director(s) and shareholder(s)
Upload or accept model articles of association
Confirm your registered office address
Pay the ÂŁ12 fee by debit/credit card
Once submitted, your company is usually registered within 24 hours.
📌 Step 4: Wait for Confirmation
You’ll receive:
A Certificate of Incorporation
Your Company Number (used for taxes and banking)
Save this document—it’s your company’s official birth certificate.
📌 Step 5: Register for Corporation Tax
You must do this within 3 months of starting to trade as a limited company.

📌 Step 6: (Optional) Set Up a Business Bank Account
It’s best practice to open a separate business bank account for your limited company.
